22 May, 2007

LUDHIANA: Scores of Sikh activists on Tuesday blocked the busy Ludhiana-New Delhi rail route to protest Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Raheem's alleged insult to Sikh Guru Gobind Singh. About 100 protestors blocked the rail track at 1115 hrs raising slogans against the Dera Chief. The police, however, successfully persuaded them off the track in half an hour. However, a railway official said the services were not disrupted despite the protest.
