Many students are perturbed for the proposed Punjab bandh on May 22 , the call for which is given by the Akal Takht, coincides with many postgraduate examinations in colleges affiliated with Guru Nanak Dev University.
Prof H.S. Bolina, dean (students welfare), Layalpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, said it was the duty of every Sikh to implement the decision of the Akal Takht. However, the Akal Takht and the university should take immediate steps to ensure that students appearing for M.Sc (IT), MCA , MA (Punjabi Part I), MA (Economics -I) and MA (Geography) take their examinations without any hassle.
The Akal Takht has announced that no educational institution, bus and rail services would be allowed to function during the bandh.
