30 more families snap ties with dera

With the snapping of ties with the Dera Sacha Sauda sect today by about 30 more families from Sunam and its nearby areas, the total number of families, who had left the Sacha Sauda sect and joined the Sikh Panth in the past four-five days, touched the figure 58 .
As per information, about 25 followers (15 families) of the Sacha Sauda sect snapped ties with the dera and joined the Sikh fold at Gurdwara Niyain Sahib, Sunam. They were presented with ‘siropas’ by the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.
At a gurdwara at Sheron village here, about 35 dera followers (15 families) today also reportedly joined the Sikh Panth.
An office-bearer of a gurdwara prabandhak committee told The Tribune today that before May 27 hundreds of followers of the dera in the Sunam area would join the Sikh fold .
Earlier, 28 families from Cheema Mandi and Beer Kalan, both villages of Sunam subdivision, had reportedly joined the Sikh Panth.
