Khatta Singh, a follower of Dera Sacha Sauda who worked as a driver of its head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for about eight years, has approached the Supreme Court and Punjab and Haryana High Court for the police protection for him and his family members, as they have been apprehending a threat to their lives from the dera functionaries.
Khatta Singh, while talking to TNS on phone, said he along with his family members, had started apprehending threat to their lives after he made a statement before the CBI in connection with the murder of Ranjeet Singh, who was one of the members of 10-member committee of dera.
He said though he had been provided with one gunman by the Haryana police, he had approached SAD secretary-general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa in this regard.
He said after he made this statement, he was harassed by dera followers and made to sign the blank papers. He alleged that dera followers had used those blank papers carrying his signature against him before the CBI and in the relevant court of law.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kumar, a spokesperson of Dera Sacha Sauda, denied all allegations levelled by Khatta Singh.
