Tough days ahead, DGP tells officers
Tribune News Service

Giving signals that the days ahead could be “tough” in the state, DGP N.S. Aulakh has directed the Punjab Police officials to pull up their socks and be prepared in view of the ongoing Sikh-Dera Sacha Sauda feud and the May 27 deadline fixed by Akal Takht for closure of all deras in the state.
The DGP also made it clear to all DSPs and SHOs that they would be directly held responsible in case any unsavoury development erupts in their respective areas of operation in days to come.
Aulakh, who along with IG (Jalandhar zone) Sanjiv Kalra, met the DIG (Jalandhar range), four SSPs of the Doaba region, DSPs and SHOs, came to Jalandhar in a chopper. After the hurriedly convened meeting, Aulakh and Kalra flew to Ludhiana to undertake a similar exercise there.
